Today’s tutorial is an exercise in using Inkscape as a tool for tracing, drawing and simulating gradients. Follow step-by-step as I demonstrate how to draw the Firefox logo using nothing but ellipses and the Pen Tool.
When drawing with vectors, I’ve found that it’s always helpful to try to visualize the simple shapes within a design, then use them as a starting point for building the rest of the logo.

If you want to follow along with what I’m doing in the tutorial you can grad a copy of the Firefox logo here. Just right-click the image to copy it, then paste it into Inkscape.
Watch the video tutorial at the top of the page for the complete step-by-step instructions.
