Another Logos By Nick YouTube Channel Reaches 100K Subscribers!

Back in 2017 I started a second YouTube channel for Adobe Illustrator tutorials and called it “Illustrator For Beginners”. I later on rebranded it to “Design Made Simple” so I could include other applications as well, such as Photoshop and the Affinity suite.

The idea was to duplicate the success I had with my original channel, “Logos By Nick“, and tap into to a new audience.

At first this was just a side project that I would work on periodically and neglect for months at a time. Between managing freelance projects and building the Logos By Nick Academy I just didn’t have much time for it.

Despite my neglect though, the channel slowly grew over time.

Towards the end of 2020 it became clear to me that this channel had the potential to grow even more if I dedicated some time to it, so I decided to do just that and put the Logos By Nick channel on the back burner for the time being. That channel had already peaked and exceeded all of my expectations, so it seemed like as good a time as ever.

Fast-forward to 2022 and I’m happy to say that Design Made Simple has joined the 100k subscriber club:

YouTube sends out these awards, or “silver play buttons” as they call them, to channels that reach 100K subscribers.

The original award that I received in 2018 now has some company.

Subscriber count isn’t what excites me about this milestone though. That is mostly a vanity metric, and very rarely is it an accurate reflection of the size of your community.

What really excites me about this milestone is that it serves as reassurance that what I create is valuable, and it’s a signal that I should keep moving in this direction.

That means so much more to me than any award, so thank you to all of you who may have supported the channel in any way. Hopefully in a few years we’ll be back here celebrating the next one!
